Use the mix bus only after the vocal, drums, bass and harmonic instruments already have a convincing balance.
Listen for cohesion and easier separation, not a dramatic rescue of unresolved track-level problems.
Keep enough headroom for any limiter, clipper or final delivery stage that follows.

Starting workflow

Try Punch & Separation, then reduce before adding

Start with Punch & Separation or Signature Balanced and listen through the loudest, densest part of the song.
Use Smart Bass and Smart Treble in small amounts because a bus move affects every source at once.
Use Vocal and Stereo only when lead focus or spatial depth improves the whole arrangement rather than one element in isolation.

Verification

Level-match before deciding that the mix is better

Turn Gain Match on for the final tonal comparison so level increase does not automatically win the audition.
Check the chorus and quiet sections for pumping, masking, harshness or a hollow centre.
Verify true peak, sample peak and loudness with the meters already trusted in your delivery workflow.

A mix-bus enhancer is not a repair strategy

It does not replace corrective EQ, compression, de-essing, clipping, limiting or automation when those jobs are actually needed.
If the kick and bass fight each other, solve that relationship before adding more global low-end weight.
If the mix changes dramatically when bypassed at matched level, decide whether the effect is enhancement or compensation for an earlier problem.
