Mastering audio enhancer VST3 workflow

Add finishing polish without turning an enhancer into the entire mastering chain.

ArSonKuPik can be used during mastering to shape body, clarity, depth and air, but final mastering still requires independent decisions about loudness, true peak, dynamics, translation and delivery format. Treat enhancement as one controlled stage, not a substitute for those checks.

Goal

Polish should improve translation, not only first impression

  • Use the mastering presets as starting points for tone and dimension, then reduce any control that calls attention to itself.
  • Listen for a stable vocal centre, controlled low-end weight and top-end detail that remains comfortable at different volumes.
  • Keep the final destination in mind: streaming, video, broadcast and local playback do not reward exactly the same compromises.
Starting workflow

Choose the preset by problem, not by prestige

  • Transparent Polish is the first choice when the mix already works and only needs refinement.
  • Open & Detailed can be explored when the master needs more perceived openness; Warm Glue when the presentation feels too separated or lean.
  • Use Dense Mix Clarity, Dark Mix Lift or Bright Mix Safe only when those descriptions match a real problem you can hear.
Verification

Gain-match, meter and compare against the unprocessed mix

  • Enable Gain Match for the final tonal judgement so louder is not automatically interpreted as better.
  • Measure true peak, sample peak and integrated/short-term loudness with the metering system required by your delivery workflow.
  • Audition on more than one playback system and return to mono when stereo enhancement is part of the decision.
Boundary

Enhancement does not replace mastering control

  • ArSonKuPik is not a loudness-normalization service, forensic meter, restoration suite or guaranteed compliance processor.
  • A limiter or clipper may still be required after the enhancer; leave appropriate headroom and verify the final output after every downstream stage.
  • If the source mix contains unresolved balance or resonance problems, fix those first instead of using mastering polish to hide them.
Mastering evidence

Separate a better tone from a louder master.

Gain Match is designed for level-equal comparison, while the public measurement method defines what should be documented before numerical claims are made. Together they help keep a mastering decision tied to evidence instead of volume bias.
